Preserved TreeScapes International has been producing Green Products with recycled materials for over 20 years. Some people say we were Green before Green was popular. Preserved TreeScapes International offers products that provide contributions in several categories of the LEED Ratings System. The areas that we can offer contributions are: Water Efficiency Credit 1: Water Efficient Landscaping Credit 4: Recycled Content The preserved products have the highest contribution of our product lines. The following are some examples of how our products may offer contributions to the various LEED credits. Preserved plants may contribute to the Water Efficient Landscaping Credit by reducing potable water consumption. They will reduce the amount of water normally associated with the maintenance of living plants. PTI plants are produced with products that have been recycled and portions of the plants are able to be recycled so there may be a Recycled Content Credit. If a customer is within 500 miles of our facility in Oceanside, there may be a Regional Materials contribution. Most of our materials are harvested or recycled within 50 miles of our manufacturing facility saving fuel and emissions. The natural components we use in our preserved palm trees are rapidly renewable materials and may offer a contribution to the Rapidly Renewable Credit. For the last 3 years, our Preserved Palms have been named one of the most “Environmentally Friendly Products for Interior Spaces” by Paul Shahriari, CEO GreenMind Inc. Preserved TreeScapes has a calculator available that can determine the dollar amount of the contributions in each category. The calculator is being expanded to include all of Preserved TreeScapes’ products.
